Charlotte has a proven career as a versatile, contemporary director. She works in a range of genres directing television, film, musical theatre, new writing, opera, pantomime and classical texts.
TELEVISION: Charlotte’s TV directing credits include 16 episodes of EASTENDERS, DOCTORS (BBC) and 15 episodes for HOLLYOAKS including the 2022 Christmas day special (Channel 4). Charlotte is now in pre-production for her next 4 episodes of Eastenders (BBC).
THEATRE: As Associate Director for the Northcott Theatre, Charlotte directed main house productions of Bedroom Farce, Single Spies, a newly adapted version of The Turn of the Screw and The Grapes of Wrath.
Other projects include re-directing the West End production of Abigail’s Party for a national tour (HAMPSTEAD/BATH THEATRE ROYAL PRODUCTIONS), directing Elsie and Norm’s Macbeth (SALISBURY PLAYHOUSE and UK national tour), directing Cole – a musical revue of Cole Porter’s life, (YVONNE ARNAUD, GUILDFORD), directing the new musical Not the End of the World (YMT), tour director on London Cuckolds (ROYAL NATIONAL THEATRE), resident director on the Olivier award winning South Pacific (Directed by Sir Trevor Nunn, choreographed by Matthew Bourne at RNT), Associate Director on Strictly Ballroom the Musical (Directed by Drew McOnie for WEST YORKSHIRE PLAYHOUSE and PRINCESS OF WALES THEATRE, TORONTO), Associate Director on Prism (BIRMINGHAM REP and UK tour, starring Robert Lindsay and Tara Fitzgerald), director on multiple productions for Creation Theatre, Oxford and the award winning, Guildford Shakespeare Company.
Charlotte also works as a dramaturg, (specifically developing new musical theatre), writer, and choreographer (at Shakespeare’s Globe, Kent Opera, Headlong and Oxford Stage Company (amongst others). Charlotte’s reimagined production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Woman in White, staged in early 2025 and produced by Alex Parker (Quick Fantastic Productions), opened to packed houses at the Electric Theatre
